Year 7 students will be taking part in the ‘Grow a Pound Challenge’. They will be loaned £1 by their form tutor and given the challenge to make it grow. We have linked with our local maternity hospital to make care packages for the ward. Each care package will contain essential items and a little message to make the recipient smile.
Students can be creative and will be tasked to raise as much money as they can.
They could bake cakes and have a cake sale, organise a book sale, do some jewellery, keyring or magnet making, make night light holders, design comics, take part in a sponsored silence, do a sponsored run, swim or bike ride, sell bags of sweets, make and sell pancakes, wash cars, arrange a tombola to guess the name of the cuddly toy, crochet keyrings and much, much more.
They will have 30 days to make their £1 grow (starting with form groups J, O and H from Tuesday 1st November 2022. All money raised must be returned to their form tutor by Wednesday 30th November.
Form groups N, P and R will take up the challenge in January, T, S and C in March and L, E, W and A in May 2023.
We might even ask the crochet club to get involved by making some hats, tiny teddies or booties!
