On Friday 15th July, the Sixth Form will be running a whole school non-uniform day. Instead of collecting cash payments we will be asking staff and students to bring in an item/s for a food bank in Derby who will be supporting vulnerable families during the summer holidays. Each form room will have a box for students to drop off their donations and the sixth form will then collect and deliver them to our two chosen charities.
We will be collecting donations for ‘The Padley Centre’ and for ‘Doorways Derby’. Further information about both can be found on their websites:
We ask that students wearing non-uniform to the academy respect the following requests:
- Students will still need to wear their lanyard, ID card and have their planner with them
- This event is for one day only and students should not wear non-uniform items at any other time in school
- We do not expect to see clothing which carries provocative or rude slogans and we still expect clothing to be ‘fit for purpose’ (i.e. not torn or too short)
- All other school rules and expectations for good behaviour continue as normal. The school day will operate as normal. Therefore, students need to attend fully equipped and with a good work ethic.
We would ask that students bring in items to their form rooms from the list below. If anyone would like to make a larger donation please arrange to drop off items at Reception (or students may come to the sixth form block).
