It is the end of a very busy term and I would like to thank the students, staff and parents for their commitment and hard work during this term. Our end of term newsletter showcases some of the amazing work that has been happening throughout the academy over the last few weeks.
We have had many challenges thrown at us as an academy, but have managed to operate as ‘normally’ as possible. It is unbelievable that we managed to keep the academy running with all year groups present until the final few days, but that that is down to the maturity of the students following the guidance and working with us to stay safe.
Despite the demands placed on us from the pandemic the students continue to go over and above expectation and never cease to impress. From raising money for charity, volunteering in the local community and performing in the arts and sports they have really made the most of every opportunity offered to them, as well showing their own initiative this term.
We are approaching January with a high level of uncertainty, but I am reassured that the students and staff at John Port will be ready to embark on a new term in January and will thrive with any challenges thrown our way.
We look forward to welcoming Year 7, Year 11 and the Sixth Form back to the academy on Monday 10th January and all other students on Tuesday 11th January.
If there are any changes to our plans I will contact families over the holiday.
I hope that you and your families stay safe and well and that we all return feeling refreshed in the New Year.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Squire
Principal
