Thank you to all the parents who have supported the Year 9 blended learning at home this week. The students have engaged with the learning with great enthusiasm and staff reported excellent attendance at the live lessons. We look forward to seeing Year 9 back in the academy on Monday 16th November.
Unfortunately, looking at staffing for next week, we will be required to move Year 10 onto online learning at home. The decision to have Year 10 on home learning was taken due to the large number of staff and students self-isolating next week. The majority of lessons will be delivered live at normal lesson times. If a teacher is ill, work will be set for students to complete. Students in Year 10 will be expected to return to the academy on Monday 23rd November. Please contact the Head of Year (Mrs Kniveton) if you have any issues next week.
Year 12 students return to the academy on Monday 16th November. Year 13 will be on home learning for the week beginning Monday 16th November and will return on Monday 23rd November.
Therefore, Years 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12 will be in the academy as normal next week. As requested, students in Years 9 and 12 are able to wear non-uniform on Friday 20th November as they missed Children in Need.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and hope to return to full capacity as soon as possible.
I am sure you will join me in sending our best wishes for a speedy recovery for all students and staff who are currently ill, we hope they will join us again very soon.
Kind regards
Karen Squire
