The purpose of the 16-19 Bursary Fund is to provide financial support to young people continuing in education, who would otherwise be prevented from participating due to financial barriers.
You can apply for financial support if:
- Your families gross household income including benefits is £22,000 or less
- You are entitled to Free School Meals
- You are a young person living independently and get Income Support, or are a young person in care, or leaving care, or are a young person in receipt of Employment & Support Allowance and Disability Living Allowance. If you are living independently and not on Income support we may still be able to help you.
Students are invited to complete and submit an application for the Bursary. The academy will endeavour to notify applicants of receipt of their completed applications as soon as possible. The acknowledgement of receipt is not confirmation of acceptance for support. The application will be assessed against agreed criteria, as set out in the guidance notes. Applications may be submitted throughout the Academic year, and re-applications will be accepted where there are changes to circumstances. An application for Free School Meals may also be completed.
