Information on applying for a place through the Derbyshire County Council’s Coordinated Admissions Scheme is available here.
The Admissions Policies include detailed information on the applications process; the special consideration given to applications on behalf of children with special education needs and support requirements; and the criteria used when the academy is over-subscribed. Copies of the Admissions Policies are available here:
Parents of children in Year 6 will receive a letter from the Local Authority inviting them to apply for a place at their preferred secondary school in early September. We have 360 places available in Year 7. Places are allocated in accordance with the admissions criteria as detailed in the policies. For 2022/23 Year 7 admissions, all places were allocated and we did reach capacity. We would suggest choosing us as your first preference school if you wish for your child to attend John Port.
